About me Glennis Gratwick & Contact

Qualifications and Training – I am IIHHT (International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies) qualified having obtained the Diploma in Holistic Therapies and the Indian Head Massage Diploma at Stockport College (near Manchester) in 2002. I successfully completed the VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust) Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology in 2004. I am a Fellow of the International Council of Holistic Therapists, and Member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists. www.fht.org.uk

To increase my knowledge and skills I studied for the Practitioner’s Certificate in Reflexology at North Area College, Stockport. This course involved 60 hours of treatments with clients who acted as case studies. I became a Member of the Association of Reflexologists in 2003. www.aor.org.uk

I have worked in the public sector all my life, taking early retirement from the health service in 2001, and I’m only too aware of the stresses and strains of 21st century living.

In the last four years I have been working with patients living with cancer. As a volunteer, I worked at a Macmillan Centre in Cheshire providing aromatherapy, Indian head massage and reflexology for patients. The therapies are particularly good for alleviating some of the side effects of chemotherapy treatment. I am now associated with Ty Geraint (Y Filltir Sgwar), at Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth and work with patients in their own homes or on the hospital ward. All my therapies are suitably adapted so they can be used with patients with cancer.

All holistic therapists are now required to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) in order to retain their membership of professional bodies. I take part in workshops, courses and other training events for my ongoing professional development.
